A look at the \u00adofficial statistics does not paint a good picture here: The owners of the around three million family-run companies in this country are getting older, which means more and more \u00adowners are being faced with the deci\u00adsion of whether to hand their business on to others. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9db637d e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"9db637d\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1a36ec8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1a36ec8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Depending on the study, the number of potential handovers per year is estimated at between 30,000 and 76,000 companies \u2013 and this trend is rising. The number of these companies ready for hand\u00adover is far from being matched by an adequate number of people interested in taking the helm.  Despite the start-up hype in the media, fewer people are \u00adventuring the step into professional self-employment today than in the past. The Kreditanstalt f\u00fcr Wiederaufbau (KfW) has \u00adcalculated that, statistically, less than half a person out of 100 \u00ademployed \u00adpeople aspires to start a full-time business. An in\u00adcreasing number of handovers and a start-up dynamic that remains constant at best means that the gap between poten\u00adtial outgoing and \u00adincoming owners continues to widen. At last count, there were statistically only around 0.6 potential \u00adin\u00adcoming \u00adowners for \u00adevery outgoing owner . The consequence is that more and more outgoing \u00adowners are unable to find successors. For example, companies such as Belz GmbH from W\u00fcrzburg, Planen und \u00adWehner GmbH from Schweinfurt or Fr\u00e4nkische Rohrwerke Gebr. Kirchner GmbH &amp; Co. KG from K\u00f6nigsberg im Bayern. have elected a generation of entrepreneurs to the plenary \u00adassembly for the first time, all of whom have dealt with the issue of company succession. Even far away from the honorary office, the chal\u00adlenge of generational change plays a major role in the CIC\u2019s everyday life. W\u00fcrzburg-Schweinfurt CIC has long been \u00adsupporting this successor aspect with its portfolio of consulting, networking \u00adformats, awareness raising and qualifications, together with \u00adregional partners. At the same time, it is working with partners such as business incubators or regional networks \u2013 for \u00adexample, Startbahn in Schweinfurt or gr\u00fcnden@w\u00fcrzburg in W\u00fcrzburg \u2013 to establish an active and strong start-up scene in Main Franconia.     <\/p>\n<p>Succession is one of the great challenges for small and medium-sized enterprises. On a positive note, according to the latest CIC Succession Report Main Franconia , although almost six out of ten businesses ready to be handed over have a handover as their goal, four out of ten also do not know how and whether to \u00adproceed. If, in the worst case, 40 per cent of the companies surveyed are not aiming for a handover, this once again shows the dramatic nature of the situation. There are undoubtedly \u00adpositive examples, and the chambers themselves are contri\u00adbuting within the scope of their possibilities to an improvement in the overall situation with partners on the company and succession side.    <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b1b211d e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"b1b211d\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a0ecbea elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a0ecbea\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>However, the right political course also needs to be set: in addition to generally simplifying the process and encouraging entrepreneurship by reducing bureaucratic hurdles, there needs to be more promoting of career opportunities through profes\u00adsional self-employment, not least in terms of education. And last but not least, we need to work on the image of entrepreneurship \u2013 because positive examples encourage emulation.
